About the program
Ignitia is St. Xavier's College's annual cultural festival — three days when the campus stops being a campus and becomes a stage. Since its first edition, Ignitia has grown into one of Mumbai's biggest inter-college fests: bands, dancers, actors and dreamers from across the country converging under one set of lights. Ignitia 2026 is our boldest yet — a battle of bands, dance nationals, theatre, a neon DJ night and a headliner concert to close it out. The stage is set. All we're missing is you.

Opening Ceremony & Battle of the Bands

Ignitia 2026 roars to life. The lamp-lighting and Convenor's welcome give way to the loudest night of the year as college bands from across the country plug in and fight for the Battle of the Bands crown.

Dance Nationals — Ignite the Floor

The flagship inter-college dance championship. Group, duo and solo rounds across street, classical-fusion and contemporary styles, judged by a panel of choreographers. Bring your squad and your loudest cheer.

An intimate evening of stagecraft — competitive street plays (nukkad) followed by the proscenium theatre finals. Powerful scripts, sharp direction and the year's most talked-about performances.

The campus turns into one giant dancefloor. A headline DJ set, LED walls, lasers and confetti cannons close out day two. Glow gear encouraged; energy compulsory.

The moment the whole city waits for. Our celebrity headliner takes the Ignitia main stage for a full live concert under the festival lights. Gates open early — get there for a good spot.

Questions
Do I need a pass, and how much is entry?
St. Xavier's students enter free with a valid college ID. Outside guests need a pass — day passes and a discounted 3-Day Season Pass are available online (link in the Passes section) and at the campus gate. Headliner Night requires a pass or Season Pass.
Can students from other colleges attend and compete?
Absolutely — Ignitia is an inter-college fest. Outside-college students are welcome as spectators with a pass, and can register their contingents for the dance, band, drama and other competitions through the Cultural Secretary's team.
Is there food on campus?
Yes. A full food court runs on the North Grounds all three days with veg, non-veg, Jain and dessert stalls, plus a chai-and-coffee corner. Outside food isn't allowed inside the venue; sealed water bottles are fine.
What are the timings each day?
Gates open at 10:00 AM on Oct 31 and Nov 1, and 4:00 PM on the opening day (Oct 30). Daytime competitions run through the afternoon; the big evening shows and DJ Night go late. Check each event's listed time above.
How do I register a team for an event?
Head to the Passes & Registration link, pick your event and fill the contingent form. Registrations close 48 hours before each event or when slots fill. Spot entries are subject to availability at the help desk.
Who do I contact on the day?
Look for volunteers in the red Ignitia tees, or visit the central help desk beside the Main Amphitheatre. For anything urgent, the Volunteer Coordinator's team is reachable at the number printed on your pass and wristband.
