Optional · most don't need it

Your own name in the link.

By default your wedding website lives at varumo.com/your-name. That works for everyone — short, free, included in your plan.

A custom domain means a name you buy yourself, like yourdomain.com or ourwedding2026.in. When guests open it, they see your name in the address bar instead of varumo's.

Honest tip: 9 out of 10 couples skip this. It's only worth it if you want the name as a personal touch — many couples print it on the paper card too.

What it costs

You pay twice your plan price — once for the plan, once for the domain add-on. Both at the same time, in one payment.

Plus the domain itself (₹600–700 a year, paid to whoever you buy the name from — not to us).

How to add one.

Three steps. About 20 minutes the first time you do it.

  1. 1.

    Buy a domain name

Pick a name you like. Go to Namecheap, Hostinger, or GoDaddy (links below). Type the name in their search box. Pay around ₹600–700 for one year. That's it — skip all the extra things they try to sell you.

  2. 2.

Pick a plan + tick "Add custom domain"

When you publish your wedding site, choose any plan. There's a tick option right above the plans that says "Also add a custom domain". Tick it — your total doubles, and your single payment covers both the plan AND the domain add-on. Already paid for a plan? You can buy the add-on later from the same dashboard.

  3. 3.

Copy two settings, paste them at your seller

After paying, your dashboard shows the two records to paste (we list the exact records below). Open your domain seller's DNS page, paste both, save. Wait 10–30 minutes — we auto-check and flip your site to your new name when the records resolve.

Stuck on step 3? Watch a 2-minute video.

Search YouTube for "add A record and CNAME record" at your domain seller — there are clear walkthroughs for every registrar. One-click search links:

Copy the two records straight from your dashboard, paste them at your seller's DNS page exactly as shown in the video, save. Propagation is usually 10–30 minutes — we verify automatically and flip your site to the new name when it resolves.

What you'll paste.

After you buy the add-on, your dashboard shows two small DNS settings to paste at your domain seller. Both have a one-click copy button. They look like this:

TypeNameValue
A@(your specific IP — shown in your dashboard)
CNAMEwww(your specific target — shown in your dashboard)

Two rows. The A record points your bare domain (e.g. yourdomain.com) and the CNAME points the www version. The actual values are generated per-site and appear in your dashboard once you've activated the add-on — copy & paste, no thinking required.

Where to paste them.

Each domain seller has a slightly different menu name. Click the one you bought from:

Namecheap

Menu pathDashboard → Domain List → Manage → Advanced DNS → Add New Record

Pick 'A Record' for the first row, 'CNAME Record' for the second. TTL: Automatic.

Hostinger

Menu pathDomains → Manage (your domain) → DNS / Nameservers → DNS Records → Add Record

Type: A for the first row, CNAME for the second. TTL: 14400 is fine.

GoDaddy

Menu pathMy Products → DNS (next to your domain) → Add

Type: A for the first row, CNAME for the second. TTL: 1 hour.

Cloudflare

Menu path(your site) → DNS → Records → Add record

Type: A for the first, CNAME for the second. Proxy status: turn OFF (DNS only). TTL: Auto.

Google Domains / Squarespace

Menu pathMy Domains → (your domain) → DNS → Custom records

Type: A for first row, CNAME for second. TTL: 1 hour.

Where to buy.

Any of these is fine. They all do the same thing.

Opens in a new tab. We don't earn anything from these — use whichever feels easiest.

Quick tips before you buy.

  • Pick a short, easy-to-spell name. If a guest had to type it from memory, could they? Examples that work: ra-wedding.com, riyaandaman.in.
  • Choose .com if you can. If it's taken, .in or .love work just as well.
  • Skip every add-on at checkout. Domain sellers try to sell you hosting, email, SSL, SEO services. You don't need any of them. Varumo includes everything.
  • Buy 1 year only. A wedding site lives a few months. Don't auto-renew unless you want to keep the name as a sweet memento forever.

Common questions.

Do I have to buy one?

No. The varumo.com/your-name link is free, works perfectly, and looks clean. Most couples never bother with a custom domain.

What happens after the wedding? Do I lose it?

You bought it — it's yours. Let it expire when you want, or keep it forever as a keepsake (many couples do).

I already own a domain. Can I use that?

Yes! Same flow: paste your domain into Varumo, pay the add-on, paste two settings at your domain provider. Works exactly the same.

What if I don't understand step 3?

Search YouTube for 'add A record and CNAME record [your domain seller]' — every registrar has clear 2-minute walkthroughs. Copy the two records from your Varumo dashboard, paste them in your seller's DNS page exactly as the video shows, save. Done.
